KINDS OF HUMAN SIN
*KINDS OF HUMAN SIN*
*"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23, KJV)*
*Introduction*
Human sin is a reality that has been present since the beginning of time. In the Bible, we find numerous references to the different kinds of sin that humans commit. In this article, we will explore the kinds of human sin found in the Old and New Testaments, divided into two groups: Sins of Commission and Sins of Omission.
*Statement of Faith*
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that it teaches us about the nature of sin and the consequences of sin. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only remedy for sin, and that He died on the cross to forgive our sins and give us eternal life. (John 3:16, Romans 3:23-25, Ephesians 2:1-3)
*Definition of Sin*
- *Sin of Omission:* A sin of omission is a sin that occurs when a person fails to do something that they should have done, or neglects to fulfill a duty or obligation. It is a failure to act when there is a moral or legal obligation to act.
- *Sin of Commission:* A sin of commission is a sin that occurs when a person does something that they should not have done, or commits an act that is wrong or immoral. It is an action that goes against God's will or commands.
- *Sin against the Holy Spirit (Blasphemy):* A sin against the Holy Spirit, also known as blasphemy, is a sin that involves attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan or rejecting the Holy Spirit's testimony about Jesus Christ.
